Zurich to implement new crane management system 131

Posted on Wednesday, 08 October 2008 10:33AM by Editor
It has been revealed that world famous insurers Zurich are planning to work directly with crane operators in an attempt to provide them with the knowledge and tools to enable them to implement crane management systems that are more effective and far safer than anything currently in use.

Risk engineering consultants with significant experience in craning operations have worked in a unique industry-wide outreach programme set up by Zurich. The programme provides training for its customers’ project managers, estimators, site supervisors, crane owners and anyone involved in the planning, set up, operation and maintenance of the mobile and/or tower cranes and associated rigging.

Zurich will provide workshop attendees tools such as planning materials, additional resource information and templates they can use to help develop a management system that not only meets, but exceeds the standards required by law. This program challenges executive-level construction leadership to develop a system that ensures a safer crane and hoisting operation.
