The Department for
Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (also known as the BERR) has confirmed that Ian
Pearson is to be the new construction minister.
He steps up to the post to replace Baroness Shriti Vadera who has been moved to become Minister for Business and Competitiveness.
Mr Pearson is currently the Economic and Business minister and represents Dudley South as an MP and he will take responsibility for construction alongside nine other industry sectors.
Pearson will be the eighth minister for construction since the post was created in 2001. He will be part of Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
