The excavator is a very useful piece of plant hire equipment; and companies that stock an excavator (or a large number of them) usually fall strictly into the category of a plant hire company. Excavators can come in a tremendous variety of shapes and sizes and can be customised for virtually any job depending on what is required by the customer. You will often have to make a number of choices when looking to hire an excavator such as whether to opt for a 180° or 360° type of vehicle; you should ensure that you are certain what you will require the excavator for before approaching a plant hire company. Excavators are also available with a variety of traction methods including caterpillar tracks or large wheels designed for working on building sites; as you have probably gathered excavators are very flexible pieces of equipment.

It is possible to hire an excavator with a fully trained operator, whilst this may seem like an expensive outlay the advantage of such an arrangement is that the experienced operator will be able to accomplish tasks much quicker than someone who is unskilled with the equipment.
