Crane drops air conditioning unit, pedestrian seriously injured 131

A crane has recently dropped an air conditioning unit on the head of a pedestrian as she stood waiting at a bus stop, it has been revealed. The unnamed woman in question is in her mid 20's is currently in serious condition in hospital.

The accident occurred on York Road near Waterloo Station in London, construction is currently underway across the street on the Prospect House building site. The accident happened a short time after 9:00AM and police quickly cordoned off the area. The London Ambulance Service immediately sent an air ambulance along with a road ambulance and motorcycle response unit to the scene.

The woman was taken to King's College Hospital by road ambulance with head, arm and leg injuries, but it is believed that her condition is not life threatening. Health and safety executives are currently investigating the accident and inspectors are currently piecing together the cause of the incident.
